I think I've slept a total of 6 hours in the past 3 days. I really need to catch up on my sleep!

I was off on Monday for Veteran's Day, but received a call early in the morning from our Foster Coordinator for the Husky Rescue. We had a Dog we needed to pull ASAP from the Nassau County Shelter, way up near the Georgia Border. Apparantly the Manager at this place was recently fired, because the Dogs were being kept in poor condition. The Shelter was closed for the Holiday, however they said they could arrange for someone to meet one of our Volunteers there, if we agreed to pull her that day.

I am in charge of organizing transports, and I have a whole team of volunteers that I call upon when needed. Trouble is, most of them are in Tampa. So when a transport like this comes up, it's pretty hit or miss when trying to find someone to do the transport.

Jo Ann and I worked all morning long trying to get this thing going... I found someone to pull the Dog from the Shelter, and someone to transport the Dog from Jacksonville to another location. However, I could not find ANYONE who was able to pick the Dog up to do the last leg of the transport, which was from Daytona to Orlando or Lakeland.

Since I had to go up to St Augustine to get my tattoo finished, I figured I was not going to be able to do it... Turns out that Jon and Tracy, who are the ones who transported to Jacksonville, offered to drive out of their way, to meet me at 9 pm in St Augustine, where I then picked up Takala (that's her name), and drove her home with me. So in the end, everything ended up working out.

Sofia worked on my tattoo for about 3 hours. She put the whites and frost highlights in, and touched up a lot of stuff. So my tattoo is now officially finished :) Looks almost the same as it did before, but at least it's complete now! :D

I was supposed to meet Jon and Tracy at another location at 9, but they were a little early, and ended up finding the Tattoo shop by coincidence... So as we were wrapping up, they came in to let me know they were there. Takala was a really good girl in the car, and she also slept in Halo's crate, in my office when we got home.

She and Maya are both Alphas, so there was no way they were going to bond over-night. They were both really aggressive with each other through the screen, so I decided not to take any chances.

Early yesterday morning, I got up and drove Takala to a rendezvous point near Tampa, to meet Jo Ann and transfer the Dog over to her. She's now in her new Foster home and will finally get to settle down and have a shot at a normal life. When Nichole (her Foster Mom) traced back her micro-chip, this Dog originally came from a Puppy Mill, and has been in 4 different homes in the past 3 years... How fucked up! Hopefully this time, we will find her the perfect forever home :)

Last night, I went up to Ocala Tattoo, and saw my Girl, T, and got my scar touched up. Afterward, I met her and some other people at Chili's, and we drank it up for a few hours. :)

Now it's work, work, work, for the rest of the day.
