My Halloween was a total bust. We have hundreds of Kids in our neighborhood, and were told by neighbors that we get tons of trick-or-treaters every year.
As a precaution, I went out and bought a fuckload of candy, we decorated the house, etc. etc. etc. How many trick-or-treaters did we get?... 8.
5 of which came in CARS (we live in a fairly normal, busy neighborhood, like anyone else. We don't live way out in the middle of bumfuck nowhere where you HAVE to drive from house to house. Not to mention, I am from Virginia, where we trick-or-treated on foot EVERY year in 30 degree weather. This is Florida where it was like 65 degrees outside. Only 1 Parent actually walked their Child to the door, and he was talking on a cell phone the entire time. All the rest of them had to walk up our driveway by themselves. The other 3 trick-or-treaters that came on foot were our direct neighbors and already knew us. We kind of figured that was about it for trick-or-treaters, so we pretty much bombarded them with candy. Turns out there was some huge Halloween trick-or-treating party across town, and who knew that pretty much every kid in the city was taken there instead? Fuckers...
We lay on the couch and watched Campfire Tales, while we waited to hand out candy. Thank god I ended up being too lazy to get dressed up, otherwise I would have been REALLY pissed!
Hopefully everyone else's Halloweens were more eventful than mine. :)
