It's amazing how much beautiful weather can affect your mood. This is the first day since probably mid-April, that I've been able to turn off my A/C, and open the windows for the entire day. I don't think it made it above 83-84 degrees all day long.
Just having fresh air and a nice breeze, did so much for me, and put me in a really awesome mood for most of the day. It's nice that it's helping to cut down on my electric bill too!
Thomas O'Malley went to the Vet's today for his dystemper shot. I officially switched Him and Maya (who have already seen a different Vet since I moved down here) to my current one who has been treating the Kittens and Litabelle, and now I am REALLY glad I did. I had to go pick up Thomas and Maya's records yesterday (for some reason, they said they wouldn't fax them... Your guess is as good as mine... Lucky for me I didn't move out of state). When I went in to pick them up, they were only records for the 1 time they'd each been seen there. I asked where the rest of their records were, and the Lady actually argued with me that that was it. I explained that WASN'T it, and Thomas' record only showed that he'd had a rabies shot that year. No indication of when his dystemper was due, or any previous medical history. Same thing for Maya... Showed that she'd been treated for allergies, and nothing more. So I stood firm and told her to check my file again for their other records. She finally found them, but said that I couldn't have them... Ummm, I wasn't asking for THEIR copy... She seemed irritated that I wanted them xeroxed, but after I got the records copied, I saw that Thomas was more than a month over-due on his dystemper shot, and the dumb Vet's office hadn't bothered to inform me, let alone even notice. So he went in to his new Vet's office today, got his shot, got a check up and went home. He has lost a pound, which I am sort of worried about. The Vet and VT said that this is very normal, considering Thomas is 9 1/2 years old. They start to lose some muscle mass as they get older, and are prone to dropping some weight. Still though, they said I can bring him in any time and they will weigh him for me. I am such a damn hypochondriac when it comes to my Babies...
On a lighter note, one of the undesirable characteristics of having a Manx Cat, is they are born with some desensitized nerve endings around their bottoms... Basically, it means that every once in a while, they will go potty and end up soiling themselves. Last night, Sadie had one of those occurances, and we were unaware of it until this morning...
Ever wonder where your Cat goes at night, while you're sleeping? I think I now have a pretty good idea... Sadie literally left little butt-prints ALL OVER the damn house... She left them on the bed, on the carpet, in the closet, in the bathroom, in the kitchen, in the living room, on the end table, on the couch, up on the window sills, in my office on my desk, on my papers, on my filing cabinet, and on the washing machine. It was obviously not fun to clean up, but it was one of the funniest damn things I have seen in a long time...
