"The rebels of MC2
Can you please turn it down? Detroit Techno Militia kicked out of the Motor City Music Conference for playing techno music.
The Detroit Techno Militia was offically kicked out of the Motor City Music Conference for being too loud. It seems we offended our neighbors with our techno music and unwillingness to conform. Oh yeah, we're the asshole punks of the Detroit music scene.
I mean it was totally our fault because this was a music conference... what were we thinking playing techno music? Oh wait... I forgot we're not playing hip hop or mainstream rock n' roll so our music is *boring* (so says STRONG ARM our happy hippie booth neighbor who vowed to get our booth shut down since day 1). Tell me this, when was the last time you met a tattooed 70's rocker selling black light JIMMY HENDRIX posters asking "could you turn it down, its too loud."? Then we had Ms. FullOfHerself that felt it was her job to police the booths making sure the music wasn't "offensive to others". It was her undying devotion to STRONG ARM and his poser ass long hair and rock tats that lead to DTM being asked to leave (after being told that techno is "boring"). PLEASE NOTE that if we were a rap booth and the majority of us were not white, no one would have said shit to us. Why? Because thier would have been a fucking riot if they tried that shit with WJLB or a local hip hop label.
Anyhow, this conference was NOT about music and its influence in Detroit. It was all about trying to squeeze a little more cash outta those who love Detroit and its musical DIVERSITY."
