Jumped Off The Production Ladder, For Now

Jun 25, 2007 23:45

Today, I called the coordinator for the popular network television show where I had an office production assistant job lined up, and turned the position down. I cited the cable start-up I am a part of, which is a portion of the reason, but as mentioned in my previous post, the reasoning extends beyond just that. The coordinator was so very nice about it, I began wondering if I had made the right decision before we'd finished our short conversation. Remorse and second thoughts revisited me throughout the day. Only now, in the quiet before bed, am I feeling the first twinges of excitement for my future plans.

So, I am now actively pursuing "Option #2" (start a design business, continue to write like it's a part-time job), barring an offer for a writers assistant position, of course.

Fittingly, today I had the first phone meeting with my first client under the umbrella of this design business I plan to build.
