[Get high enough in the tree, and a panorama of the island comes into view. Upslope, there's little more than forest dwindling to bare rock. The forest also thins downslope, fading into a grassy plain.

There's life out there on the grass, creatures moving around, though it may be difficult to make out exactly what they are. There's also evidence of a human hand shaping the landscape--those lines crossing the grass might be roads, or possibly fences. From here, it's difficult to make out exactly what.]

It turns into a field downhill. There are some animals of some kind down there, and I think I saw fences. Maybe a road. Nothing much uphill.

[cocks an eyebrow, then sweeps his gaze pointedly over the jungle surrounding them.] A farm?

[ Shrugs ] Probably.

[ Turns to face downhill. ]

Which direction did you think you saw the road in?

Maybe there's phones down there, too. If there's farms....

The road was that way. [ points ]

[Stares off in that direction for a moment, his glare falling on the forest floor. Of course the community would have done this on a day he was wearing his Santoni loafers...]

[Without waiting to see if anyone was following, he starts off in the direction indicated.]

[Ema waits a little bit, just to be sure they're going the right way, and then she starts walking in the direction everyone was pointing towards. She may be doodling in her notebook as she walks.]
