Player: banerry
Subject: Azula, Itsuki Koizumi
Table: A
Prompt: 014- Tease

When Azula was working on her language studies at Lisa's house, Itsuki would sometimes come up and bother her. He'd claim that he was doing something else, of course-- asking how her day had been (even though it was the weekend and they'd both been hanging around the house all day), helping her with her work (even though he didn't speak any of the languages that she was learning), or asking for her help (even though she had no more of an idea how to work a 1988 VCR than he did, and he knew it). He always acted friendly and polite about it, the way he did with almost everything, but there was definitely a teasing element in there. It was like he thought it was his right, or something, because they stayed in the same house sometimes and called the same person "mother". That was the most annoying part of it, really-- the way he seemed to think that he was entitled to swing his arm along the back of her chair and lean down over her papers, pointing at a word that he was completely unfamiliar with and asking if she was sure that she had that right; that it looked wrong to him, and that maybe she should check the dictionary a couple more times.

With almost anyone else, she would have gotten up and left the room, or rolled her eyes and haughtily called them childish, or-- if she was in a particularly bad mood-- snapped and told them to leave her alone or else. But with Itsuki, she just waved the dictionary in his face and told him to look it up himself (which he did, and his guesswork on some of the Hungarian pronunciations had her biting back laughter).

They weren't particularly close. They didn't share their thoughts and feelings and fears with each other. They didn't share much at all, actually.

But unlike most people, he was always allowed to tease her.
