Up until that day, she hadn't been to an amusement park in years, ever since...well, since her mother had made her announcement and ruined their family. This one though, was much bigger than she'd ever imagined.
There were rides everywhere. People laughing as they played games similar to the ones that Mi-chan would come up with for their game club. Rollercoasters that looked as if they could touch the clouds, then swoop down so fast, she thought they'd hit the ground just as fast. And the smells...it was like being back at the Watanagashi festival, only more plentiful. Everywhere she looked, there was something new to look at, another ride she wanted to go on, another treat to try, and she found herself almost constantly tugging at Ryoko and Akabane's hands excitedly.
At times, it seemed like the day could've lasted forever, but it ended all too soon. After the last ride - and a quick stop to take a picture - the trio left the park to head back home.
That day, she'd been oblivious to the stares other people gave them. She'd ignored the whispers, overlooked the people keeping their children close, away from the tall man in black and his two “daughters.”
That day was theirs to spend as their own little family.
