I've been asked to reprise my role this Saturday as the innkeeper. My parents have also been asked to reprise their roles as Mary and Joseph. I get to tell my parents in front of the whole congregation "You look dirty and you smell. Move on. There is no place for you here." That's my line. Well, I have a couple others that are the along the same lines. Last year as the service was beginning I sat behind the pulpit with the pastor who turned to me and said, "Would you like to help me out some with the reading?" I accepted, and he handed me four of the eight pages of reading. "Thanks, Lucy!" When I saw the pastor Wednesday he didn't mention anything about extra reading, but he didn't mention anything about not doing extra reading either. Hmm. At least I'll get to wear a sweet Biblical costume.
