My summer in North Texas

Jun 09, 2005 05:41

It's been almost two weeks since the last time I went to bed before the sun came up. It's as if my body thinks that it's already summer and has decided I should be nocturnal again. I'll be home tomorrow, although I don't know yet when I'll be leaving Chicago. I hope Phill makes the trip okay. Dad's saving a large soft drink cup from a meal he ate on the road yesterday. Phill will be traveling to OK in the cup. If we leave today I don't think he'll survive. I hope we leave tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure Patrick is already in Lone Wolf for the summer, so I won't get to see him. I'd go visit, but western Oklahoma is about the most boring thing I can think of to drive through. It's not worth it. Mom has been saying we might go to the Hotter 'n Hell Hundred this year down in Wichita Falls. That'll be great. I want to ride so bad I can taste it. Then there's the slight chance my parents will let me roadtrip to Plano to see my Texan. I'd fit right in driving around in an F-150, and it would give me an excuse to see my OKC friends.

I got into all the classes I wanted, but I don't need to take four, so I'll drop one come fall. The U of C music department offers a class called "Rock" that meets at eight in the morning. Does that seem strange to anyone?
