I want some lemonade today

So I'm twenty. More than that, I'm in my twenties. Can I still idolize Daria? Can I still watch Freddie Prinze Jr. movies? My friend Drew offered to hold a ceremony for me to delete "Teenage Dirtbag" and "Teenage Lobotomy" from my computer. I don't think I have the heart to do it. The birthday on the home front kinda sucked. Jack had things to do that beat out any desire I had. I guess it has something to do with the fact that he in many respects just left home this semester, while I've been gone over three years. I got a couple phone calls and several facebook messages, none of which I would have ever expected. You guys really really rock. And the anonymous e-card? I know it wasn't for my birthday, but I suspect one of you. It worked. I don't know who you are, or why you thought I deserved it, but it felt really nice.

I was at a party on Friday and a complete stranger came up to me and yelled "Oklahoma sucks!" then ran away. I of course broke into "Boomer Sooner."

These past few days have been really nice. Discussing religion in 510 feels right--me sitting cross-legged on the brown comforter, looking at Drew sitting on his roommate's bed playing X-Box. "Wait, I can't do this," he says and pauses the game to make his point to me about Lutherans, then returns to the game to listen to my reply. We later spent a great deal of time scatting the title of the Natsci 101 textbook, while I avoided telling him anything about Professor Frank Richter. Several hours earlier Evan and I had sat at dinner scatting the name Chakotay while a confused Stephanie looked on.

I'm ready for a new quarter to start, but I don't want to go home for break. Maybe the bell choir will let me play with them at the midnight Christmas service. That would be really sweet. I had to break out my heavy coat this week and in the pocket I found the lyrics to "Softly and Tenderly." I don't remember why I had them there in the first place.

What Obligatory Indie Accessory Are You?

i am an indie snob!

How indie are you?

You're just too cool for school, aren't you? You're pretty narrow minded
and opinionated with regards to music (and probably most other things
as well). But you're allowed to be, because you really are better
than everyone else. You take pride in obscurity.
You probably prefer vinyl too, you elitist bitch.

I love walking around the floors of the house late at night when no one is up.
