So Jack is all moved in. He bought his first cell phone and he'll start school in a couple weeks. We spent a couple days buying groceries and putting furniture together and a couple days touring Philadelphia. I had never thought much of the Liberty Bell, but it was pretty cool. We saw the place where the Constitutional Convention met and the room that housed the first Supreme Court. I didn't know that there were originally only six justices. I swear those national park rangers know everything.
Dad told me I can pursue law. I've been thinking about it all summer and I want to do this, but I can't decide if I have what it takes. It would mean a severe change in my study habits. I was in the kitchen last week with Mom, who was reading the Progress. She mentioned an article that said one of the Lepak boys (the eldest- Billy? I can never remember which is which) is starting law school with some sort of scholarship. I don't really remember the details. I asked her how she feels about me going in that direction and she approved without hesitation. That surprised me. I found my uncle's listing on the Texas Bar Association's website. The last time I saw him was at my grandfather's funeral in junior high. He was a low-level associate at some sleazy Houston firm. Now he's back in Fort Worth with his own practice.
