I am the vinegar and salt and you are the oil...

This week was fun. I failed two midterms and wrote a shitty paper. Meh. Next week is production week, so academically it will be easier, but in general it will be a big bitch. Ahh seventh week, how I await you. I can't wait to again spend all my time slacking in the lounge. I told myself I'd start trying in civ, but that hinges on me getting my ass over to Crerar sometime soon.

I'm really looking forward to Dad coming up in June. That's out of character for me. I think I'll give him a big hug and take him to the Snail. It's a shame about his bike, though. He had originally planned on coming up at the beginning of eleventh week and, well, I'm not sure exactly what. He was going to go to some bike megastore to either buy parts for a fifth bike he I guess has in the works or buy parts to pimp out some of his old bikes. Apparently he hadn't okayed those (expensive) plans with Mom, who is very much against it. So now he's just coming up to take me home. I'm excited.

During a five-minute break of play practice in Reynold's on Wednesday I ran out to Hutch and had just enough time to catch one song of PanAsia's Christian rock concert. They were doing an interpretive dance to a Casting Crowns song. It was beautiful-- one of those moments that reminds me exactly why I am Christian. "Oh! So that's what this is all about!"

"Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
and watch me rise again
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call through the rain
And calm the storm in me"

I returned to practice beaming and uplifted. While I'm not a huge fan of Christian rock (except Overton and Broadway and the Newsboys, but O&B are kinda required for a child of First Christian Claremore), I do understand why it moves people the way it does. I'm sorry I didn't get to see the rest of the concert.

Today is May Day. I hope it's clear in the morning. I'd really like to see the hammer and sickle shadow on the side of Pick.
