Gimmicks! We need MORE gimmicks!
Ok, so my initial impression of this wasn't so hot, but after thinking it over for a bit the new slide / tap-section thing might actually be an interesting addition. At least Red Octane is trying to add gameplay elements that correspond (sort-of) to playing the real thing. I'm interested to see exactly how tapping works, as the touch area had coloured sections - I assume this means that tapping on a particular section strums AND frets that particular button, which emulates tapping on a real guitar. As I said, could be neat. Just hope that everything they introduce can be done with a previous-model guitar, as I have enough plastic instruments in my room as it is.
I do love how everyone's focus on drums now is making it quiet, haha. Too many parents complaining about their kids playing late into the night, I imagine. Still no option to add a second bass drum pedal, though? :(
