Thank you! I was going for a really gritty style here, and it was an exercise in exploration of emotion for me. :)

It might be because I wait until the moment where I am absolutely sure, mentally and emotionally, that I want to draw something, before I actually do it. Haha. Or it might be that I just had a good dinner. XD

I've been thinking about these two ever since I bought "Under the Hood", and I'm so happy I joined the Free For All because it nudged me into the direction of drawing this piece. :D

Thank you for commenting! :)

I like the wild spattering of this piece. It fits the raw emotion here very well.

Gah D: In terms of the style and the emotion that comes through this, you really, really nailed it. I don't think Jason really looks dead though (he's not limp enough?) but that's just a minor detail. Other than that, this is really fantastic and you did a lovely job.

Thanks for commenting! It really weighed on me because the classic piece had Jason's head lolling back, but I eventually decided to go with this version because I wanted Bruce to have him propped up/cradling him.

Kind of like in the movies where the hero desperately tries to get their loved one to 'stand up', and just generally not be dead. Though I probably could've made the arc of his back more pronounced to show that he wasn't getting up on his own... more food for thought for next time! :)

Cheers!
