I figure she's a teenager, and teenagers, by and large, think their parents are very not-cool. From there, it's a matter of making her sarcastic without making her obnoxious. I'm glad she worked!

I imagine that Lian is, overall, a pretty good kid, but really, who doesn't take cheap shots at their parents in high school?

*snicker* XD This was too cute! Looks like Hal and Roy have discovered the basic tenet of being a parent: when you kid becomes a teenager, you cease to be in any way cool. :p
