DCU Community Spotlight #1
Greetings, all! Welcome to the first ever DCU Community Spotlight! :D
The DCU Community Spotlight will be posted every week at some time on Monday, for now. Three communities will be spotlighted, the same as in the LJ Community Spotlights, though obviously in the same post. Now, on to the Spotlight!
This week, I'd like to spotlight a few of the holiday-themed fic challenge DCU comms. Even though all these challenges are past their sign-up periods, there is (and will be) lots of good holiday fic to read as a result. :)
1. A perennial favorite, 12days_of_clois started out as a Christmas-themed community for Clark Kent/Lois Lane fic, but quickly grew into much more. Now hosting fic challenges and exchanges on a regular basis, the community is growing by leaps and bounds, especially considering the growing popularity of the pairing with Smallville fans. The current Christmas challenge is well underway, and lots of good Clois fic, for most versions of the pairing, is being posted daily.
2. New to LJ this holiday season, boostlethon is a holiday Secret-Santa-style gift fic exchange, with fic featuring Blue Beetle/Booster Gold (Ted Kord/Michael Carter). This year's fic started being posted yesterday (12/21).
3. Running since 2004, jbbs is "Jingle Bells, Batman Smells: A Teen Titans/Outsiders/Young Justice Secret Santa," a fic exchange centering around the second generation of DCU heroes. This year's challenge is also well underway, currently in the final round of submissions. Fic will start being posted on the 24th.
