[For a moment, Jonathan can only blink at the other man, startled by his sudden attack into freezing.] I-
["Scarecrow." The man had referred to him as Scarecrow. He hadn't used that exact name in a years, but that he even knows that... Jonathan's mind kicks into overdrive.]
I- I think you have me confused with someone else-

Dr. Jonathan Crane. One-time psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum and professor of psychology at Gotham University. Went a little kill-crazy, became the career criminal known as "Scarecrow". Uses toxins, hallucinogens, and knowledge of psychology to terrorize the populace of Gotham. Supervillain.
*dangerous little smile* And in my world, deceased.

What-? [... the stranger is clearly delusional. Jonathan clamps down on a sudden wave of fear. Fear is an illusion; this stranger is, like all the others, only a man.
[All right. Jonathan will play along, for now. He lowers a hand slowly. If he can just get to the darts in his belt without notice...] I can't say I have.
Oh, nothing's ever easy. You really ought to check the Bulletin Board -- there are explanations.
*Jason lets go of Crane, and a moment later, the Bulletin Board is visible a few feet away from them, right in Crane's line of sight. Like it was suddenly set up while he was blinking.*
[Jonathan blinks as the board suddenly appears, a hand resting against a sedative dart as he cautiously glances over the various notices. It's... bizarre. Without it, he would have assumed he'd been targeted by a delusional teleporter, but the effort and variety of handwritings here... is this a hallucination? Some type of trick?]
*Jason crosses his arms over his chest.* It's the Bulletin Board. Space and time don't work normally in the Hub. The Bulletin Board appears whenever you're looking for it. And the distance between two points is malleable. I'm perfectly aware that it sounds insane, but your experience will prove my point eventually.
I meant what I said, by the way. If you hurt anyone here, I will end you.
I don't think anyone quite understands it. It's just part of the nature of this world. You'll see doubles of people that you know from home. Just... mind the sign.
*Jason points out the 'No Hugging Strange Jasons' placard, and the notebook-paper addendum forbidding any hugs without express permission of the recipient.* Some of my fellow Jasons get stabby when their personal space is violated.
[See this face? This is a face of utter confusion. He's starting to wonder if, instead of running afoul of a delusional teleporter, he's run afoul of a delusional telepath, and this entire thing is a hallucination.]
[Tugging the dart free and settling it in the palm of his hand, he looks over the stranger, keeping his posture relaxed and smoothing his expression over.] Why would I do that?
Fuckin' Scarecrow. Behave yourself or I'll kill you, no matter what the rules of the Hub are.

True to the stranger's words, it appears in front of him. He tries a few times more, with the same results.]
How-?
