After reading the comm from Bones, Jim wasn't sure if he should thank his CMO or curse him. With the meeting with Starfleet coming up, he was getting close to his wits end on being able to do a million things at once. Though the last bit confused him. "I don't mumble in my sleep," He muttered to himself, frowning. Least, he was pretty damn sure he didn't.
'Vegetarian shit', Bones wrote.. Great. The things he went through for Spock. The thought made him smirk, and the whole idea kept him going through the rest of the day.
He was still late getting off shift, cursing as he rushed back towards their quarters. He wanted a damn shower and out of this uniform... would anyone give a damn?
Bones looked up when he heard the door slide open, and frowned at the look on Jim's face. "You're not late," he said, wondering if that was what was bothering him. Standing, he made his way over to where Jim was standing. "Hey," he said, leaning in for some physical contact.
"Good," Jim murmured and stole a quick kiss. "...Just... a long day." His lips quirked in a vaguely annoyed way. "Way too long. Was glad to get your comm, though."
"Hope you didn't mind," Bones answered, kissing him back. "Was just talking to him earlier, and we got into it about cornbread, and I thought... well, I thought it might be nice for all of us to get together, before things get crazy once we get there."
It was pretty clear where 'there' was - the ship's transit to the NVC had been on Jim's agenda for the last several days. Tugging at Jim's shirt, he pulled it up and over Jim's head, pausing to nuzzle the warm neck. "Go clean up."
