Bones looked down at the lab reports that had been attached to his medical files. It hadn't taken long for him to realize that there was an additional test on Tina's lab report, one that wasn't normally done unless something was out of the ordinary. He stared at that for a long moment.
Tina was pregnant.
Bones knew that Starfleet regulations stated that she could work through her second trimester before she'd be required to leave the ship for safer location. Fuck... he hated the idea of losing his head nurse, but more than that, he knew this wasn't in the plans. Not for any of them - no one took a position on a five-year mission and planned on getting pregnant.
Filing the report away, Bones created a duplicate medical report and sent it to Kirk, removing the information about Tina's pregnancy. He'd have to talk to Kirk about this - the Captain had to know about it - but Bones wanted to give Tina the chance to do it on her own terms, as long as those terms didn't take too long.
It looked like she was back on duty. Bones took a deep breath and bit the bullet - they had to talk about it, so
why not just get it over with now.
