Backblogged (with a side of Catch Up)
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I'm been lazy pregnant dead shopping busy. Between life, school, clients, and needing to rest, I've got a lot to juggle while I ride this unicycle. So here's the rundown:
Life
Went to a big Flash convention a few weeks ago, lots of fun, met the gal that does the Thirty Second Bunnies Theatre site. (If you've never been there by now, you MUST go see it!) Also met plenty of computer nerds and learned plenty of new geeky stuff. Ooh, and I won a copy of Macromedia Studio 8 at a raffle there too!!! (Yes, if you clicked that link and looked at the retail price, now you know how blown away I was.)
Also, been scrounging around for a great Halloween costume. Initially I was going to be the Zoltar fortune teller machine from "Big", but then realized I've have to strap a big ol' booth on my shoulders for a couple of hours. Plus, the only person who I think would've truely appreciated its humor would be Helen. ;) Now I've got a great idea that I've told a select few people, but I'm not saying anything on here about it yet. Give you a hint though, it's not the Kool-Aid man as I previously thought I would be.
Lastly, over the past couple of weeks, another good friend of mine (different than this person) made a few suicide attempts and had to be taken to a mental hospital. While they're much better now and going to therapy and all, it scared the shit out of me.
School
I forgot to mention last time that I'm working on a website for class credit! It's for a student's senior film project called "Point of View: A Dogumentary". I won't divulge the details now, but suffice to say, it's gonna be cool when it comes out. Anywho, I've been working hard on it with the director, Kate, and so far our brains have been clicking pretty well. Oh, and she's also spent a lot of time in New Orleans as well, so we got that going for us too. (For those wondering, I'm keeping this relationship strictly professional, mainly on the basis that I see big things in her future and she may be a great contact in the future. Also, I glanced in her planner and saw "bible study" written down. And she has a boyfriend. She is cute, but I digress.) The rest of my classes are fine though.
Clients
Nothing had been happening too much until this past week, when both my cousin's site and the Cinemotion site needed to be updated with new content and videos. However, a lot of that hasn't happened yet because I've been...
Needing to Rest
Soooo...the other day, I went ice skating with my friends @ Hillel. I joked how I'd be the first to fall on my ass, but as luck had it, I never fell on my ass. I fell on my left leg, bruised the hell out of my left elbow, and even did a belly-flop on the ice, knocking the wind out of me for a bit. That was Wednesday. Thursday, I figured I'd give my body some time to rest since I knew those incidents could be pretty serious. (Plus I didn't do my homework for those classes either. :P )
Then Friday comes along. As I'm washing myself in the shower, I heard a little *pop* come from my back, and then suddenly a burst of pain flew through my right shoulder. Ever since then, my shoulder hurts when I pick something up or lean over to stretch or whatever. Called the Health Center but couldn't get an appointment. The nurse kindly called me back though and said to take anti-inflamatory medication like Advil, Motrin, etc, and that if it still hurts by Monday, come make an appointment then.
Yes it still hurts now. And yeah, it's making me be a bit more pissy, for lack of a better word. It just reminds me than I need to take it easy for now.
Don't worry folks, I'll read & reply to everyone's blogs by the end of the weekend, I'm hoping everyone had blogged some good news/stories/whatevs!
