Best. 4th. Ever.

Hands down, the best 4th of July I've had in a long time.

Justin invited me via txt messagethe other day to his 4th of July bash in La Habra.  Since he's a cool guy (and I had nothing else to do), I figured, what the hell.  Saw a bunch of DL friends there, including an85ford, Janice, glitteratti_1 (+ new boytoy) sophie832, thelox714, the Katie formerly known as Candy, and Liz .

All the jokes we made while watching tv blur together in my head, ESPECIALLY during Jeopardy and Match Game '74 ("Udders!") but suffice to say, we had a fun time, and it was definitely a good excuse for Justin's dad to try out his new outdoor grill.

We were still trying to figure out where to go to watch fireworks (after all, it is our god-given right on the 4th to salute America by blowing shit up) when someone said Disneyland. Mind you, this popped up at the last minute, so a few of us APers piled in my car and 'attempted' to get into Disneyland at the last minute.  (They also convinced me that only tonight does yellow means 'jam the gas' and not 'hit the brake'.)  Alas, traffic was horrendous.  However, being the Disney geek I am, I shoved the normal fireworks music in my stereo and synced it up to the first part of the show as we drove crept along.  (Speaking of creeping, I think I might have either scared people by my driving or made them realise I know my car really well.  Eh, probably both.)

Finally, we turn onto Disneyland Dr from Ball Rd, and luck has it, Disney closed the entrance to the parking lot.  So we're just stuck there, piled up with a bunch of cars at our side, staring at this giant bridge on our right side.  Still fun nonetheless, especially since the company was good.

Despite our best efforts, we still felt gyped, so we proceeded into the park to ride PotC and get at least something out of that long ass trip through traffic.  Oh yeah, and to meet Justin B as well, who just got off his shift at Innoventions.

Okay, I'm gonna be brief b/c I'm tired as all hell now, Liz and I did our obligatory pirate thing of course ("I wanna ride a pirate!" "Arrrrr!"), bought a souvenir for my sis to take back with me, we all piled in and drove back to Justin's house, got my camera I left there (hence the lack of photos), had a brief/awkward moment with Liz that I think is all good now, and left.  Good times, guys.

P.S. Don't worry folks, I'll get un-backblogged soon.  Just need to take more LJ fiber tablets. ;)
