So, for the past couple of years, I've been checking the A23 forum for the word 'Survivor' to see what comes up. Primarily, it turns up posts about the FunkerVogt track by that name-- a track which ironically came out just around the same time as the legendary "Japanese Import" version of the Assemblage23 "Ground" single that features the Destiny's Child cover. Well anyway, last Friday I scanned the forum again and and found the following post:

Tom, A while back, the club I frequent played what they said was an A23
cover of Destiny's Child Survivor. It sounds a bit like you, and even has
that Assemblage sound, but I'm unable to dig up any official information on it . Some random message board claims it's on a few copies of the Ground single; however, it's not on my copy. I'm pretty sure this is a case of "mistaken identity", but figured you'd know better than anyone. =)

edit: Hmm, forgot to ask.. Was this a cover you did? Or is it someone else?

Thanks!

It is encouraging that he found it to be authentic enough in sound to ask Tom himself about it and that the only thing that made him suspicious is the lack of official documentation... Also, note that if you follow the link at the bottom of aaron's post, it is to an Orlando, FL based podcast site. That, my friends, means we now have a track that is getting at least national club play... albeit under the name 'Assemblage23'...
