"I think the only approach in covering politics is to be true to the facts."

Hi guys! It's been a while. I think.

Currently blogging through a laptop. Not our laptop, a laptop. Well, at least not yet. It’s a second-hand Dell Inspiron 1525 with some pretty good specs: 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB of RAM, and 250 GB of hard disk space. (The graphics is only an integrated Intel GMA though, which means we can’t really play resource-intensive games in here. And I was planning to play [Sims 3] with this T_T) The only problem is that this laptop has Arabic characters on the keyboard, set side by side with the Latin characters. I tend to see these kinds of laptops a lot these days. I can only infer that they became a popular pasalubong from OFWs working in Saudi Arabia or something. Hey, if our dad was still working in Saudi today, I’d tell him that we’d rather have him send money to us so that we’ll buy the laptop here ourselves. We’re not even sure if the service center would agree to fix this kind of laptop if ever this breaks down, you know.

Anyways. Why did I say that this is not our laptop yet? This was actually pawned by a family friend to Mom a few days ago for a PhP 14,000 loan. He said that if he doesn’t able to finish paying for the loan (matubos) within 2 months, the laptop is ours. Which still entertains the possibility that we may not be able to keep it after sometime. So, this laptop is not ours yet, but I hope it will. (Dapat kasi, binenta na lang sa amin eh -_-)

Guess I’ll just have to enjoy the experience of having a laptop while it lasts. Which, BTW, I have to share with kuya once in a while. Only he can bring it to school whenever he needs it. (Sa bagay, burara akong estudyante like that.)

I’ve been having the sniffles this past week, and it got much worse on Thursday night. The cold came packaged with fever, pain in my nape and back, and fatigue. I took Decolgen every 6 hours throughout the week, but it didn’t seem to work. I only got much better Saturday night, and I still am now. Sure I still got a bit of the sniffles, but it’s much more bearable than the state I was in 2 nights ago.

But do you know what’s weird about all of this? I felt much better on Saturday after watching [Koisuru Bokkun] episode 1 (a recently-released yaoi OVA that I’ve downloaded into the laptop that same day) and “unleashing the dragon” along the way, if you get my drift *wink*. I guess yaoi is the new best medicine, y/y? XD

So many shiznits has happened in the local anime scene since my last blog post. First, ABS-CBN has decided to purge almost all of its currently airing anime titles last week, putting in Nick shows in their place. You know, [Spongebob Squarepants], [Dora the Explorer], [Avatar: The Legend of Aang], that sort of thing. This also explains why the “Nick on TV5” timeblock over at The PLDT Channel TV5 vanished a few weeks ago. It angered me, naturally. I mean, they’re going to practically let go of anime just because Nick shows garnered tremendous ratings when they were still on TV5?! Still goes to show that ratings ultimately rule in terrestrial TV. Meanwhile, I’ll be here, silently hoping that whoever manages programming in ABS-CBN would come to his/her senses and bring back anime a few weeks from now.

I guess the only pakonsuelo that we have is that Studio 23 (which has revamped its logo and graphics YET AGAIN today) has expanded its weekday morning anime block from 8am to 12 nn. That’s a whopping 4 hours of anime and tokusatsu, with 8 titles filling that block! I should remind myself to watch the mega-anime block there sometime.

Another Pinoy anime news that just came in on Saturday was that “TV5 Animega” will be returning next Saturday. (For those who don’t know, TV5 also purged its Animega primetime timeblock more than a month ago, putting in Koreanovelas in its place.) OK, it’s not really a full relaunch, since it’s only going to air every Saturday from 11am to 3pm. Animega’s going face-to-face (pun intended) with television heavyweights such as the second half of [Showtime], the whole [Pilipinas Win na Win!] (which replaced [Wowowee] yesterday), and [Eat… Bulaga!].TV5’s not really willing to give up on their primetime second-rate Koreanovelas, aren’t they?

Also, a reliable source has told me that TV5 is set to premiere a big anime title. It’s a title so big that I can only imagine the rants I’ll be hearing from one of my f-listers. Clue: In one part of its title, one would be confused whether to pronounce them as numbers or as letters. To those who know the answer, don’t reveal it in your Comments! It’ll spoil the suspense, and my source is going to kill me. (So bakit pa ako nagbigay ng clue, diba? XD) You’ll all properly find out in due time.

UPDATE: I can now officially announce it. TV5 is set to premiere [GUNDAM 00] soon. In Tagalog dub, of course. Will provide more details later as they come in. BRB LOLING
