"...In this moment, everything is born again..." She has Duran Duran stuck in her head as she arrives at the address Josh gave her in the rental Toyota that handles nothing like her Mazda. Damn the wrong song for always playing on the radio.

Brittany looks a lot different than the last time they met. Gone is the extremely professional-looking black suit she tended to wear as a CTU agent. Now she's wearing pants with a turtleneck under a V-neck sweater, her hair put down for once. She looks like a different woman, except for her eyes, which seem to give it all away. Optimism mixed with disappointment, both of them warring for control.

"Hey," she says, trying to be relaxed and not let on that she's still grappling with what she's done. "Could it be any colder in this damn state?"

Josh startles a bit as she steps in through the door. He's bent over the heating unit, and clad in about four layers--including two different overcoats. "Fuck no," he offers in return. He widgets a nob, and then steps back and gives the heater a solid kick. A few seconds later it starts thumping on.

"Welcome to headquarters."

"It's charming - in a functional sort of way." She nods. "Got the earliest flight I could. Figured, what the hell. My ex has already called me completely confused, I'm in the middle of nowhere, and the rental car handles like a go-kart, so I figure, par for the course." She holds out a copy of her service file. "Signed, sealed and delivered."

Josh rubs his hands together and then sticks them above the heater. He takes a quick moment to look around. "Yeah, it's kind of bare right now. It'll look better once we get some campaign posters." Pause. "And desks." He listens, and then once she holds out the file, he moves, all quick, and takes it.

"Cool." And he proceeds to open it and read it. "I don't really know what you're going to do yet."

"That would make two of us, Josh. I've been attached to a badge, a gun and a desk for four years. Well, they didn't give me the gun till I made cadre. I digress." She chuckles. "It's fine. It doesn't matter."

OOC: If you're really bored, I can actually dig up a copy of her service file for you. I wrote one for reference some time ago.

Josh listens, and then, "Amy and Joey will be here tomorrow afternoon. Joey comes with her own assistant-- he's also her husband, Kenny, but Amy and I are on our own. It'd be a big help if you kept track of us until we get actual assistants."

"No problem. That's where the 'Administrative Assistant' part of my old job title comes in. I ran the place, once, right after we declared war on Iraq. If I can run a building full of a few dozen operatives on the move, I can hopefully keep you in line." This last part is said as a joke, obviously, as she smiles slightly.

Josh smiles and then it fades. He shakes it off. "Yeah. Okay. Yeah, so... you can run the office and I'll do what I'm good at. Amy's gonna be the fundraiser, so you'll want to talk to her about where we get the money for, you know, stuff."

"I'll do that when I meet her. I know there are different rules in politics than in the rest of the world about that sort of thing. We're also going to need a system of organization, both physical and personnel-wise, probably copious amounts of research... Stop me if I'm getting ahead of myself."

Josh snaps his fingers. "Keep going, don't stop. Big ideas are usually the best kind."

She thinks back to how she reorganized Jack's office when she first came to work for him. "We're gonna need the bastard equivalent of a war room. Break down the opposition, individually, find out everything there is to know about them that matters, not the crap that doesn't. We're gonna need to know exactly which one of us is responsible for what so we know who gets praised and who gets screamed at. A clear set of rules and an open playing field. That's gonna mean a hell of a trip to Staples."

"I'm already on that. I need a paper shredder-- and a bunch of white boards. We need one in every room." Josh states, "And try and get one on every wall in the war room. And maps-- we need a lot of maps, maps of New Hampshire for now, broken down as much as possible. Joey's gonna have some of her own, but we'll need it for coordinating volunteers."
