Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I hope this holiday season brings everyone much joy and if your lucky some phat lewtz (chuckle).
Now for my Rant!
TURKEY-DAY! Ok, I hope I am not the only person who finds this phrase extreamly annoying. It is just another indication on how freekin materialistic the population is getting. Sure I almost expect to hear children saying it they don't really know better (unless they are beaten). However, to hear it on the News (Local and CNN) or to hear it from a casheer in a grocery store or from a professor just kinda irks me lots! Thanksgiving is one of our more interesting holidays with the story behind it (even if most of it is made up) and the intentions of Thanksgiving are about the best going. To be with family/friends, sit down and enjoy a meal and their company (oh and watch football) and generally be happy with life if only for a day. This commercialized bullshit of Turkey-Day is sucking the life out of a really wonderful holiday. I mean we don't call Christmas - Presen-Day or Holloween - Candy-Night this Turkey-Day crap is well *grumble*. Oh and what the hell happened to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, I dont know if any of you watched it but it was more Broadway Show and less parade :P My sister said its just cause im becoming old in synical (prolly true) but I can't watch it anymore.
