The overwhelming response from residents contributed to some of the problems, such as finding drivers for the trucks and raising enough to pay for getting them to the areas hit by the hurricane.
Once there, making contact with sources to take the donated items became a problem, as did the fact that the trailers, while full of donated items, were not inventoried.

Got a follow-up note from my primary contact in Baton Rouge--they (the City/Parish government) are just so helpful. ;0)
