Yeah, I know, I haven't updated for a long ass time. I haven't had much to say really. actually if you compare this to my website, I do a pretty good job of updating. I think I updated the website somewhere around oh...2001. That fucker's dead. This one isn't quite dead, though I don't know what I'm going to write. Normally I could cop out and just post a recent drawing, but I am without anything worth posting. That is, unless you want a rough sketch of Darth Vader Dressed as Sho'Nuff from The last Dragon.
"Who's The Jedi Masta?!?"
"Darth Sho'Nuff!"
You don't want to see that, I really don't even want to see it. while the subject has sort of been brought up, I saw The Last Dragon last night. I love that flick, especially William H. Macy's character. Yes, you heard me right. Macy has a role in The Last Dragon. He plays a producer on Laura Charles' video show. He has maybe 5 lines. One of the most respected supporting actors in hollywood had a bit part in Barry Gordy's Last Dragon. I'm still a little flabbergasted. This ranks up there with Liam Neesan playing the big scottish ghost in High Spirits, the Steve Gutenberg Vehicle. Great men in humble beginnings should bring hope to us all.
So I visited Khan's Last night. Anyone not familiar with Khan, he was my TKD instuctor for about 8 years. Although since I technically haven't had a new teacher in the last 2 I could say that he has been my master for 10. A visit like that is both frustrating and motivational. Being that in my life my one real talent was probably my ability to perform Martial arts, spending time in your old school really makes you want to suit up and start doing drills. At the same time, watching the classes from the lobby in my street clothes got annoying. I wished I could join in, but I just can't aford it. I had to settle for helping time keep for some guys sparring, though I had to remain in the lobby. It was also rather nice that even though maybe 5 guys left there remember me, they still came to me for some pointers. Even though these guys are above me in rank now, they remember that I actually have trained much longer than they have and valued my opinion. That's a good feeling. Even though I'm not a member anymore, Khan's feels like home.
That makes me think about how much longer I should call NoVa my home. I'm always complaining about this area, and on several occasions announced that I could not live here another year. It's been a couple years since I started saying that. Looking around me now, the time to leave might be approaching fast. Trent's move to europe has been approved, he leaves this summer. Chance's move to Japan has been Approved, he too leaves this summer. AJ leaves for San diego, and her roommate, and my sports buddy, Ryan will be leaving with his GF to either chicago or Arizona. Dave as well has his own plans to Move to Arizona. That leaves me with Todd, who is my boy, but who also works awful hours coupled with the neccesity to play the good Boyfriend role. Now since If I spend too much time by myself I'll probably end up falling into a further state of madness than have yet, I have a couple options.
#1 Move to London- Yeah fuck that, not happening
#2 Move to Japan- that would be fun, but completely improbable
#3 Move to San Diego- This one is more plausable, but do I really want to follow AJ? I'm not a big fan of the fairweather friend bit. I would need more people I know.
#4 Move to Arizona- A stronger possibility. I have already expressed interest in attending ASU. There has already been a train of people that I know from this area that have relocated to the Phoenix area. Good weather, low living costs.
#5 Find Rouse and Join him- If Ryan is in SanFran or LA, work out something, skip town and move in with Ryan. If I could find a job, this would be easily doable.
There are the options, They shall be wieghed, and you will be informed if i exercise any of them. Don't get your hopes up though.
By the way, Todd, you should join me in one of these. It's easier to do with another person.
