So Ben tweeted that Marlo and Sam did indeed go to Chicago together...

In episode 11, Andy said that it had been 2 weeks since Christian had been kidnapped. So that leaves approximately 14 days of stalking Ford between Christian's abduction and Marlo's manic episode.
In the finale, Andy and Sam go through Marlo's notes. I'm going to need to make some assumptions here. The first one being that Andy and Sam's discussion starts with the first day of her 'surveillance' and she starts watching Ford immediately following Christian's abduction
1 - Christian is abducted
2 - the 11th - 'work, work, there was a drop off at the store and she was in for the rest of the night'
3 - 12th - 'same'
4 - 13th - 'same'
5 - 14th - 'that's a Saturday, why do I know that'....'nothing 'til 3pm the next day' - Andy says there won't be anything - they went to Chicago for the weekend.
6 - 15th - 3pm entry
7-9 - Trip to Oliver's cabin at some point
10 - Day 1 of Driftnet
11 - Day 2 of Driftnet
12 - Day 3 of Driftnet
13 - Day 4 of Driftnet
14 - Day 5 of Driftnet; Ford gets beat up
So I guess it is possible...so he what? Goes to Chicago - last ditch effort. Realizes it's not what he wants - spends his time dreaming about kids and the park with 'her'.

- Seriously? They went to Chicago for 1 day? She worked and went home on the Friday, nothing on Saturday and then back to write 3pm notes on Sunday...that's barely a day. Doesn't make sense.
- And if Marlo is in the middle of a manic episode, could he have pulled her away from her current obsession? Wouldn't she have balked at that?
- And if Marlo is in the middle of a manic episode, how did Sam not notice any differences in her behavior especially if they spent time together alone?
- Why would Sam tell Andy to check the date anyway? And why would there be something in the files if she wasn't around that day?
