Today I saw a frorien girl expreincing an ambarrasement. She was in a supper market and wanted to buy a pineapple and have it peeled. The sales woman told her,in local Chinese,"You have to pay your bill then I will peel it for you." While the girl couldn't understand and of course she failed to buy that pine apple. I couldn't help because the girl cannot speak English, either. Therefore, I want to tell people who want to study in China that study Chinese well before you come out. It is not easy to live in a forien country if you cannot speak thier language.Nowadays, forieners who come to China will feel it's difficult to make a Chinese friend if you cannot speak Chinese. Sometimes, even though you can speak Chinese, it's not that easy ,either. Chinsese people are not outgoing with strangers, especially if you have a dark skin. But if you can speak Chinese,it will be easy for you to study and live here.

How to study Chinese? The best way is to study in you own country. When you are in China, you cannot communicate with natives, how can you improve your Chinese? Therefore, it is very good to study Chinese before you come here.

What shoul I do that I am living in China and my Chinese is poor? Maybe you can use a translator to help you. Get your words tranlated into Chinese on your mobile phone and get people read the words. Most people here in China can read. Then you can communicate in half words and half body language. You should be active to ask for help instead of waiting. No body will know your difficulty or don't want to get trouble.

Execpt language, there are some useful tips for you when you are in China?

First of all, bring your passport and other identification materials with you if you want to buy a plane, train or coach ticket,or you want check in a hotel. Perhaps it the same in your own country.

Secondly, go to restaurants or other stores if you want to urine but cannot find a toilet. It's useful because it's hard to find a public toilet in most Chinese Cities. However, the stores have their private washrooms and it's free to use.

Thirdly, plan where you want to go ahead. Where to live? Which bus or subway line is available and where to get off? Theses information can be find in Google map (not available in mainland China) or Baidu Map (www.baidu.com), which is a native Chinese search engine. And all the tickests and hotels  can be booked online.

Fourthly, bring an umbrella if you are going to southern China no matter it is summer or winter. It rains a lot in southern China. Others things you can buy after you come in China. A hair dryer because the hair is wet and will not dry naturally. Other staffs that you want to use can be bought in local suppermakets. And you can go shopping online if you are living in a city it is the same as you do in your own country. Before you leave your country, apply a bank acount in your own country and an online acount such as Paypal (www.paypal.com) and relate that acount to your bank card. When you are here in China, apply a Chinses bank acount (bring your identification materials),then apply a online pay account such as Alipay(www.alipay.com) and relate your Chinese bank acount to it and the Paypal acount so you can use the Alipay acount to shop online or in some suppermarkets and transfer money from your home account to Paypal then thansfer it to you Chinse bank acount. So that you can get your parents put money in you home acount and spend the money in China with small charges. Of course, it is a good suggesttion to use Master cards or Visa cards because they are convenient to use and do not need to make so many steps to transfer money.

Finally, if you are in trouble ask your friends or  police for help.

I am not going to write any longer but if anyone have an interest or difficulty when living in China. Leave a message below and I will respond if I am on LJ. Enjoy your life in China.
