Being married to the Man of Steel brought with it many things, possibly the least expected were the in-laws in Kansas. Lois had flown out to visit the Kent's at the request of Martha who sensed the strain between Lois and Clark. Martha always knew, the woman could pass it off as a metahuman talent if she wanted to. "No, I'll be back in a coupe of days, the Kent's have a satellite connection for me to use. I won't be out of touch, Perry." The pause as Lois wedged her cell between her ear and shoulder while thumbing through her purse. Smoking was a bad habit but now and then it calmed her nerves and who would know? "Don't worry, I'll dig up some story on...I don't know...umm crop reserves and government subsidy dollars being misappropriated. Trust me, if there's one thing the country has, it's dirt." "...... yeah Chief, that was a joke. Anyway, I'll be back in a few days. You know I always come through with the story, right? I'm sure I can find something-" A flying thing buzzed over her car, heading for the amber waves of grain to her left. "Chief, I think I found my story, gotta go." Lois slapped the cell phone shut and pulled over, grabbing a camera from her bag she tried to zoom in and get a better look at just what had zoomed past her.
The bikes the aliens are flying might remind Lois of Lobo's space-bike, but where Lobo rides a muscle-bike, these aliens seem to be flying the equivalent of crotch-rockets.
Very well-armed crotch-rockets.
They swoop down towards the road, firing bolts of energy at the road in front of a 18-wheeler, its trailer loaded down with corn. The truck slams on its brakes, trying to avoid the sudden crater in the ground before them.
"YARRRR!" one of the aliens cries out. "Avast, ye maties!"
