Flower Power Warehouse Company - Gotham

Before the poor economic times this place housed wholesale flowers for weddings and gardens of the Gotham elite. After the downturn, they grew other plants like opiate poppies and coca leaves. Years ago, she would have let them be, content to allow more plants to kill more foolish humans. She's not that being anymore which is why she ran the thugs out of here.

Five years ago, she created life. A sentient spore lifeform was born in her lab just outside of Keystone City. That lab was discovered and destroyed by the Flash, not that she'd known it at the time. She'd come home to find her home destroyed by what she had thought to have been a tornado. Unknown to her, the spore she had put into a simple rat had been transferred to Wally West through a bite, and Wally West, like most of her creations, would grow an overwhelming desire to please her. How much of feelings expressed by the persistent speedster came from the spores or from the heartbroken man doesn't much matter to her now. She tried to use his attentions and...couldn't. In the middle of her crusade that had been a oasis just for herself. She feared to even touch him for fear of the illusion of contentment dissolving like grain of salt in a bottle of vinegar. The more the so-called "Justice League" rejected him, the more he had run to her.

Just as the process was about to complete itself, the spores revealed themselves to her and somehow, Nightwing had discovered her creation and was determined to kill her king. By attacking her and invoking memories of family within the Flash Nightwing had forced him to reject the symbiosis and with it almost all of the dreams Pamela Isley had dared to have for herself.

After that there had been a blur of adventures and fights with Harleen. There had been tormenting the easily distract-able Jesse Quick, including framing her briefly for Ivy's own "murder." There had been a lot of disgusting work seducing, poisoning, and gathering DNA of so many ugly, polluting men and their worthless trophy women. She had managed to convince Deathstroke to get her precious spores back in exchange for her help in his precious "society," but it was all in vain. No amount of engineering, testing, or adjustments could regrow what she had lost. Without Wallace her spores remained children: eager, devoted, but without guidance or understanding. When they became part of her own mind after an attempt to escape from Catwoman and Flash the spores attempted to please a new target, Harlequin. That Christmas season is a blur, but it is nothing short of a miracle that Ted Kord is still alive.

There may be a daughter out there somewhere, but the more she looks, the more the search feels in vain. No matter how far away she runs, she ends up in this bleak, forever dying city. Thanks to the spores she has been left with flaws in her memory and a troubling new conscious which blocks her growth more then Gotham smog.

Why Gotham, Mr. Ryder? Because it is the only city in the world once it grows inside of you. No matter where you go, you will never leave it, so why fight it?

As darkness descends over the city, she thinks of the one, unspoiled thing she had ever raised and knows they are threatened. This cannot be allowed...

"city of fear", poison ivy
