A Return to Roots:

Space offers a number of interesting psychological studies. Without Sinestro hanging over his shoulder, he's been able to really utilize his new technology to study fear all over the universe. He's started several wars and gathered massive amounts of data to sift through. It's truly fascinating how universal an idea fear truly is. Most every species has some understanding of it.

Truth be told, the cosmic aspect of fear doesn't interest him too much. Parallax, as a concept, is interesting on some level, he supposes. But what truly interests Professor Crane is the study of fear on the brain.

Particularly, he's come to learn, the human brain. Studying aliens is all well and good, but this doesn't intrigue him the way human fear does. It doesn't... excite him the same way. If Crane still had sexual feelings, his excitement about studying human fear would be akin to those. And if human fear is sex, then alien fear is masturbation: just not as exciting and satisfying.

It's time to come home. With the scientific tool at his disposal, he could begin to develop the greatest scientific study the world has ever seen.
