At 7AM, Roy Harper is awake. Today is the day they turn that thing-- no, her-- back on. Indigo. Roy's not really sure whether this move is desperate or crazy, but it might be both. He can't sleep well at night until he knows every tiny bit of this has been cleaned up or examined

As the team begins to split into different groups to handle different parts of the repair, Gear finds himself fascinated by the power source and distribution.

"I'll work on the power," he offers, not taking his eyes off the schematics for the generator.

Very unladylike, Amelia shoves the rest of a doughnut in her mouth, and wipes the powered sugar off on a jean leg. In a moment, she's got her coffee and is sitting down backwards on a chair next to Gear. He looks a little young to be here, but then Ray looks a little young everywhere he goes.

"Amelia," she introduces herself, putting a hand out. She's here to work, though. "So, I'm thinking those fractures are the cause of our power problem. If there's a leak, and that fluid holds enough charge, it might be frying parts of her innards, too. How's that generator look?"

"I'm still not sure," he replies, looking at the power generator and not yet noticing her hand. "We know it works by taking protons, converting them to anti-protons, and then colliding them with normal protons, and collecting the gamma rays into... this..." he points at a crystalline structure, "...which compresses the energy, and then it's distributed through the bloodstream. But the energy isn't distributing right. I think the problem is in the bloodstream itself somewhere or somehow."

He looks up, and blinks, noticing the hand.

"Oh, yeah. Um..." He shakes her hand. "Gear."

"Ten to one she's 'bleeding out' all her power. Clots, breaks, fractures-- tiny, arterial interruptions that could take us a century to fix. Even the Atom could only work so fast..."

She starts fidgeting in her chair. "Maybe distribution second. What happens when we turn the power back on, anyway?"

"We haven't yet. I'm thinking we might want to pull out the, uh... well, the heart, I guess, for lack of a better term... first. Take a closer look at it." He looks closely at the generator/power distribution unit. "Just to be safe, you know."

"Makes sense." Especially if you don't know what, exactly, will happen when the things comes online. It might be set to blow them all up, or have its IFF fried if there's any lack of malicious intent.

Amelia leans over Gear's chair to get a better look at the screen as well. "Looks like there's a release there and there--" she points, "But that's after we get through the biology."

"That's why we've got help." He turns to the white oblong shape sitting next to him on the ground. "Backpack! Go release the heart!"

The shape sprouts a long tentacle with an "eye" on the end, and four legs, and it begins to approach the android's body to carry out his directions.

Oh yes, Amelia's watching all of this with an impressed (and careful) eye. She's been set back a few years in her work with the crawlers since that disgusting D'Aubigne's raid, but she's beginning to think maybe that's a good thing.

She steps closer to watch. "Did you build that?"

"Yeah," he admits. "I've been thinking about upgrading him if I could get some decent equipment, though... I made him out of what I could scrounge."

The Backpack continues to carefully take the steps necessary to release the android's heart.
