Opinion Piece:

As the city of Philadelphia welcomes the new year, the city is still in recovery from the vicious attack perpetrated by captive Amazons and a mysterious mastermind which happened only one week ago. Just after Christmas the city was rocked by a coordinated attack by Amazons who claim to have been prisoners of war. The Department of Defense and the DEO both deny they ever had Amazon captives. Nevertheless, the city was saved by the Titans, but at what cost? While the city seems grateful for the save it is also rumored that one (or more) of the Titans themselves were involved in the attacks, leading some conspiracy theorists to claim the whole incident had been engineered. I'm not one of those. I do know, however, that history has shown that the Titans worst enemy has never been from outside of the team. The worst damage, including the Wildebeest attacks which forced the team from New York City, has come when the heroes we rely on betray their own out of madness us mere mortals can only sometimes understand...

...Checkmate isn't a perfect solution either, but they are here to stay within the city. Once more, they are for the most part regular human beings that only look scary in their uniforms. For this city, they are also the devil we know...

So is the City of Brotherly Love returning to normal, or gearing up for a new kind of turf war? Only time and citizen awareness can tell us that.

So will the next...
