J.D. had taken quite a few requests and even gotten in a few personal favorites like 'Money (it's what I want)', My Beloved Monster, My Freeze Ray (Ceridian had sang along to that one) and a quite a few others.

Now, she had something she had to get out of her system. This was the last time she was ever going to do it, since he seemed to be all better and had his head on mostly straight, but she had spent eleven years in a tube in a giant smurf's hideout.

She was going to throw one last barb at Roy and then hang up that hat.

"Okay, got one more song and then I'm out for the night and the CD player can take over. Which I'm sure you're all thankful for," she said with a laugh, "But if you gimme a couple more minutes I'm going to pull a song out of my musical arsenal. Since you guys put up with me all night, I'll even make it real speedy. I promise, you won't even feel this," she finished and started the song.

Barenaked Ladies' Never is Enough

"What, am I to wake up suddenly and then
Enroll at the local college
Earn me a degree and I could work weekends?
If I work real hard
I could mow your backyard

I could go to Europe
Travel with my friends
I could blow a thousand deutschmarks
To get drunk in a pub with some Australians
Buy a giant backpack
Sew a flag on the back

Think never is enough
Yeah never is enough
You never have to do that stuff

I think never is enough
Yeah never is enough
You never have to do that stuff

I never had to spend a summer planting trees
I never worked my way through a forest inch by inch
Doubled over on my hands and knees
I never spent a single day in retail
Telling people what they want to hear
Telling people anything to make a sale
Eating in the food court
With the old and the bored

I think never is enough
Yeah never is enough
I never wanna do that stuff

I think never is enough
Yeah never is enough
You never have to do that stuff

The world's your oyster shell
So what's that funny smell?
You eat the bivalve anyway
You're sick with salmonella

You get your PhD
How happy you will be
When you get a job at Wendy's
And are honored with employee of the month

I Think never is enough
Yeah never is enough
I never wanna do that stuff"

And with that, the hatchet was buried.

"Thanks, everyone! And props to the Bride and Groom, one of whom is my Bestest friend forever and the other just puts up with me. Give'em a hand!"

Oh, it's buried all right... in the back of Roy's head.

He waits until she steps out of the limelight to approach her. "I really don't think that was necessary."

"What wasn't necessary? The Aquatwit number?" JD asked straightening out her dress, "I thought it was awesome. Wrote it in like a day or so."

"No, that last one. I guess I can't take offense. Even assuming it was about me, I should know how to take a joke, especially from someone who can't do anything but. Even further I have been gone a bit, so maybe there's things I don't understand."

He shrugs. "Or maybe both of us are out of frickin' touch, and old assumptions and grudges really don't have a place anymore in equating who we are."
