Arthur spent it alone in the depths of the ocean.

"You're not working through Christmas, Hanukkah, and whatever it is you and Diana do - are you?"

"No," he answered simply. "I'm not working."

"Then why are you not up here stuffing yourself with good beer and fruitcake on Ralph and my dime? You're the only person I know other then J'onn that will eat the stuff." Her voice softens. "Seriously Arthur. It's been awhile."

She doesn't want to mention Mera's death or anything about the notice the Titans don't want him around. Nothing about the Tribunal about Dr. Light that made everyone revisit their worst days, disagreements, and impulses. Nothing about Black Manta being missing from Atlantis from a secured cell and no one wanting to know if Arthur did something horrible, yet understandable.

"And I'd like to see an old friend and stuff him full of food for Hanukkah."

"Sue...I...I'm not very good company. I don't want to ruin your holidays."

"You won't. Sit in the corner, eat something, open two years of holiday gifts and then go get some sleep on the guest bed. I'll be happy."

"Sue, I...." He sighed. "I'll be over. Just to make you happy."

When he gets there, Sue is good to her word. There is a chair at the table and one in the corner if he wants to mope. There's beer and fruitcake. She's even managed to get Ralph to cook Eggs Florentine. The tree is the same as it's been for 18 Dibny Christmas more or less. Bright purple and silver decorations share space with chintzy Hallmark things Ralph found. On top of the tree is a "was only a good idea in the 1950's" electric light menorah with UV purple lights in lieu of the candles marking the days.

They even has the board games and cards out.

He's kissed on the cheek and a cold one and mug are pressed into his hands. "Mistletoe."

He returned the kiss and accepted the beer. "Are you happy now?"

"I only came because it would make you happy. If you aren't happy, I can go back to doing whatever I was doing."

"Arthur, honey - the last time I offered a raspberry to someone over the age of 3 was in 1999, and Bruce completely earned it." She has a huge grin on her face, but there is worry in her eyes.

He raised a brow at the honey comment, but didn't say anything about it. "I will stay," he said. "For you."

Sue's still the most married woman on the planet. The "honey" is more of an indication of her full-on Jewish mother persona is in place today. "Only as long as you want. I've given you a 'welcome home' raspberry already.
