Thunder in Kahndaq
The palace stronghold that was built by Asim Muhunnnad, the former dictator of Kahndaq, was build on the blood of his people, and was a focus of fear for the citizens of Kahndaq, especially in the capital city of Shiruta.
That was before the savior came. Before Black Adam reclaimed his homeland.
Though feared and, in some cases, despised by those outside the country, Adam is a beloved figure within Kahndaq's borders. Which is why there was concern for many months as their ruler had gone into seclusion.
Today, that concern turned into pure, abject terror, as a mountain threatened to land on and crush their city.
Tala and her horsemen descended on the palace, and quickly gained command of Adam's shock troops and of his loyal second-in-command, the giant. Then they gained command of him...and all of the powers at his command.
Using that power...and the power of three artifacts not even Black Adam had been aware was under his possession...she made her play.
The first...the Scimitar of Adg, which had been jammed into a giant stone doorway deep beneath the palace, granted its user the ability to traverse and draw from a myriad of dimensions. This is what brought the Rock to this plane of existence.
The second, the Periapt of Chaos, allowed her to bind the new wizard...the boy, Batson...to the same prison in the Rock that had held the wizard Mordru, allowing her to co-opt the Rock, for the time being.
The third, the Amulet of Isis...she found use for. Yes, she knew they were coming. But of all the threats they're going to face when they arrive, this one would give them the most pause.
Now, she concentrated upon the Rock, slowly bringing it down onto the city of Kahndaq. Where she would rule creation.
Yes, it's cliche'. But she had a point to prove, to herself and to her idiot husband. She loved him, but to let the Dibny woman and her ilk defeat him was incalculably stupid. THIS...this was how it was done. Through chaos, deception and pure ruthlessness.
The damage being caused throughout the Middle East would keep most of them busy. Her Horsemen...and their "newfound allies"...would handle the rest.
