This is where it all began.

Several blocks away from all the fighting, the super-punches and the plasma beams and the lasers and the death rays, a Cyborg Superman descended upon the concrete sidewalk outside the front of the Daily Planet. This is where it all began.

There was a plaque here once, a memorial one.

IN MEMORY OF SUPERMAN

DIED ON THIS SPOT DEFENDING METROPOLIS

It wasn't here anymore. This is where the Cyborg Superman made first contact. He melted the plaque with his heat vision, to the dismay of onlookers. Couldn't they see they see that he was Superman?

Now, the Cyborg lands in the very same spot, everyone's attention focused elsewhere. It was a gravely different Cyborg, one who had had many different forms through the years, and one who's mission had changed.

Everything here was to die. Not by his hand; no. He was merely to be the claw which struck the stunning blow. And then, that mechanical claw would finally be allowed to rest. Henshaw had faith, had hope, that any being that could devour universes, could extinguish him.

Allocated time for contemplation had ended. He could have simply flown over and found Superman, but that would have gone against tradition. Superman always got the sucker-punch. The Cyborg's eyes flared brilliant crimson, as he turned up the dials on his heat vision.

Hank began cutting through the base of the Daily Planet with his heat-vision.

He doesn't get very far.

A blue blur moving at near light speed slams into him from the side, then takes him straight up. "Sorry, yellow isn't your color." Superman says, as he shoves hard, with the intent on sending him straight upwards."

Momentarily stunned, Hank is carried along with an evil smile on his face. He goes gliding upwards and away, ramping all of his concentration through those mighty ten rings and sending a titanic yellow column of energy at his nemesis.

Both men are terrified of losing, here, and it only amplifies the power.

It hits like a freight train...but only an idiot would just sit there and take it. Superman, a bit worse for the wear, flies around the column over him, then comes down behind him, burrowing his heat vision point blank at the hands holding the rings, looking to make them slag metal.

While setting off a signal device for backup. This is Henshaw's mistake...Superman doesn't need to beat Henshaw one on one.

Hank glances at the device while Superman concentrates the heat on his wrist. It wouldn't last forever, but he had time. "Calling for help?"

Although it had time to broadcast momentarily, the device exploded while the Cyborg came straight at Superman with nearly as much power as he could swing.

"A special fate awaits you, alien!"

Superman started flying backward with the force of the blow. The signal is all that he needed really.

He plunged back in towards Henshaw. The force of his charge could shatter a mountain. "Yes, and that fate will still have you talking a blue streak."

His rings absorbed all the excess heat of his wrist without missing a beat. Superman was fast, but so was he, and by the same token. Hank gave him another column of energy to chew on before he got there.

It took him a bit...and some pain...but Superman got there. With only a minimal amount of velocity shaved off.

You could have 500 rings. This was Superman. And he didn't fear Hank Henshaw.

Hank took the blow as well as anything could. Part machine, he was a whole shade tougher than even his nemesis. It was sort of ironic; Hank might have been in the running for the most durable being in existance, and his sole desire was to be free of his immortal coil.

The two careened downwards in a red-hot, comet-like streak.

Superman's pretty durable himself. He's maneuvering around to grab at the hands of Henshaw...then pulls back. The intent is to remove at least half of the rings he's wearing.

He is resolute. Fear? Not here.

With a monstrous, ring-amped left hook, Hank swings a little harder and a little faster than his fully biological counterpart. He isn't about to give up his jewelry. Hank is gathering power for the next attack even before the first one finishes...
