Renee Montoya had not history with Ivy Weaver - she'd never worked with the woman before. But she seemed to have a good head on her shoulders - smart, capable, efficient. She'd learn about this more, once she had a chance to actually discuss the case with her, though ( ... )

Ivy calmly answered questions. She was trying so very hard to not go into her dead pan tone she was becoming somewhat well known for. She couldn't really help it. The fact of the matter was that it was far too easy to use that tone when she was trying to be professional.

And it didn't help that the DIC next to her hadn't interjected in any way. But after the questions were asked and everything died down after Ivy was forced to go tight lipped and say 'no comment' at least five times she felt the room start to empty out.

"That wasn't my idea of spending half an hour," Ivy commented dryly.

"I need more caffeine in my hemoglobin. What about you, Detective," Ivy asked slipping into a dry and completely serious tone.

Frankly, Renee would have preferred an icy cold beer. If only she hadn't been on the clock.

"Coffee sounds good," she agreed, as amiably as possible. "Sorry about that, back there. There wasn't much I was keen on answering. Not until we know more."

The blind woman is thinking about scotch. But everyone has their drink of choice.

"Don't worry Detective. I understand. If I hadn't been assigned this I wouldn't be down here." She gets a very sour expression. "I hate reporters. They're vultures."
