Heralding a New Day

A flash of white light.

Nekron stands before a white being, composed of white light, curled up as if asleep -- or afraid.

"Your lie has been revealed, Guardians," Nekron swears... then swings his scythe towards the creature.

As the scythe connects, every being in the universe is hit with a sharp stab of agony.

Sinestro fires again and again, though Nekron appears to ignore him.

"Nekron!" Sinestro bellows. "You will leave this universe! MY universe!"

But Nekron swings his scythe once more, and once again every being in the universe feels agony.

Sinestro collapses as the white light leaves him.

"'Your' universe, Sinestro?" Hal asks with a snarl.

[corps_of_hope]

"The light of the Entity cannot be unlocked by one," Ganthet points out, furrowing his forehead in thought. "We must have those who have touched the emotional spectrum -- and not merely by these transient deputizing rings. One for each of the colors."

[lanternslight]

"No problem," Hal notes. "We've got all the different corps right here."

[corps_of_hope]

"There's more," Ganthet adds. "The Entity has been hidden on Earth -- and only those from this world will be able to unlock it."

Hal considers for a moment, then puts in a call on his ring. "Guy, Kyle, John, Travis -- you read me? We need you all here -- double-time."

There's a lot to work out still - but he's not worthless. He hasn't lost everything - almost everything, sure - but Tara is safe, Tara is still HIS

"On my way."

He turns to Tara. "Duty calls, babe. Hal called, and you know wherever Hal is, things are at their worst in the universe."

Romy catches enough to look John's way. "I'm coming with you, Marine. You keep getting yourself in trouble when I don't tag along. Besides, your ring is going to need all the juice it can get."

"Right now I don't care who's universe it is, this has to be stopped and now!" Trust Hal and Sinestro to have a macho contest in the middle of pain and world destruction. She could have kicked them both. She was going to, just as soon as the pain faded enough. "How many keys do we have available?"

Hal thinks a moment. "We need orange... and indigo. Maybe Travis can palm a ring..."

"Don't worry about them." Hugh said to Carol.=, before piping up to threst of the group. "I'll handle the blue end of things."

Stumbling his way near Batman, Eidolon's holding his shoulder as the pain ebbs away. He frowns as he listens to all the older heroes, giving his red-ringed mentor a concerned look before his attention turns to the older lanterns and recognizes Hugh. Eddie keeps quiet though, just taking in the information and waiting to see if he'll be needed to help.

"First you inform us of your lies about the white entity, then you say that only a human can unlock the power of the White Entity? How is it only *they* can unlock its power! it should be the most powerful wielders of their respective color!"

"Such a being had to be protected," Ganthet explains simply.

Hands tightening into fists for a moment, Eidolon takes a deep breath and floats over to put himself between Atrocitus and Ganthet. "Hey! I'm not happy about the whole thing either but now is not the time for this! Yell at Mr. Ganthet after we beat Nekron!" he keeps his tone firm, staying at eye-level with the big red alien.
