Brave and the Bold: Show me the Monet

The opulent Gotham auction house was a hive of bustling activity. Private collectors from all over the world have gathered, hoping to procure one or more of the rarer lots from the “Art Through the Ages” themed collection. The collection, which contained items spanning nearly four thousand years of history, was displayed throughout the room for the perusal of potential buyer. As the auction was being held in Gotham City, and some of the items on display are valued at six digit sums or higher, the collection was being carefully watched under the steely eyes of numerous private security personnel as well as the auction house own security team.

The entire right hand side and back of the hall was filled with numerous paintings which encompassing a range of schools from classical masterpieces to more modern art deco and even surrealist portraits.  Some of the more esoteric items were even stored in reinforced glass cases including a curiously shaped angelic metal figure. A small card bellow the case indentified it as a transuranic iron artefact dating from somewhere in the 19th dynasty. The collection was not even limited to the more traditional art pieces and included a number of crinkled illuminated manuscripts from the middle ages, some original prints from the Gutenberg press and even some classic comic books.
