He sighs. "I know. Lock me up in Alcatraz when it's over. I've earned worse. I may not have been as good to you or for you as Rita was, but that does not mean that I wouldn't have done anything for you, or tried to protect you in any way I could."
Her shirt's torn. She looks like she's seen better days. She puts her hand over his.
"Probably should have shifted earlier to help out."
She pauses. "Gar, I owe you a big apology. I didn't have any damn business looking into this. As much as he's done, he's still your dad...well, guardian."
He shakes his head, giving her a big hug. "You didn't have the monopoly on dumb mistakes on this one, Rory... not by a long shot. I owe you a huge apology, too. Maybe a few."
"Back when I was a kid, I discovered I could turn into different creatures that never existed. Gargoyles, dragons, that sort of stuff. And to protect me, he put a lock on that power... and that block has been there since."
"It probably would have scared me if I hadn't been more concerned with getting Claire and Peter out...and if I hadn't been in a difficult shift myself," Aurora admits. "I know you can pull off some pretty impressive stunts, Frog Prince, but that goes past 'impressive.'"
"I can do all sorts of mythological creatures now, too," Gar explains, shifting into a green gargoyle. "I think I can handle bigger creatures now, too."
"There's more to it than that," Aurora says. "It's another way to try and help people. It's not just 'putting on a mask and beating people up.' Folks who do this do it because they are trying to...well, a lot of them have been through hell and are just trying to make it so 'hell' doesn't happen to anyone else."

He's done with Dayton, at least for the moment. He moves to Aurora. "Hey," he says gently. "How are you doing?"
