As Alan makes his way, he thinks of all those who have come after them. he remembers fondly the first meeting between him and Hal, and his meeting the other Lanterns.

Still, the original Green lantern is among the first to arrive. He intends to see his counterpart become a wedded man...even if he has to beat Hal over the head to do it.

Lois was arriving alone. Clark had decided at the last minute to stop off to pick something up--she wasn't sure what--but she didn't mind. She was going early to get details. Part of the "hero" community or not, she was still a reporter.

And no way was Clark getting this story.

"Well, hello there, young lady," came Alans voice as he saw Lois fighting rather successfully for a spot.

It put her right behind him, and her movements did not escape his attention.

"Well hey there, old man!" She greeted Alan with a big, genuine smile. "How are you?"

"Old man, huh? I guess I'll have to hold my comments then. maybe for the gentleman form the Daily Star..."

Alan shoots a sly smile, showing that he's joking.

"But on a personal note, I'm fine. Making sure that Green lantern follows my footsteps and stays married to his former villain."

"I've got money riding on this shindig myself. I hear Carter and Shiera are doing guard duty."

"Yes, they are. And if they aren't enough..."

Alans ring sparks, almost out of anger.

"They have some support form the front row."

"God I love a good heroic wedding. Clark and I weren't nearly this interesting, but man. I wish I had popcorn."

"Good to know they we can be so entertaining."

Alan shifts in his seat.

"I'm glad Molly and I were married so many years ago, when no one cared as much. I would have hated to have this much attention on our wedding. This would have been so disconcerting."

"It certainly would have been. But at least in this case, it will hopefully make Hal and Carol think twice before bailing."

"I'll never know. Hal cares for the woman, but he's too wrapped up with his lifestyle to stick with one woman for long. I sure hope this shows Hal that settling down is not giving up his freedom."

"Asking Hal to decide what he wants for dinner is asking him to give up his freedom, but I know what you mean. I guess only time will tell."

Alan chuckles at Lois' joke.

"Always a pleasure to talk with you, Lois."
