HYPERTIME!

The very word conjures images of infinite possibilities! Endless ideas! Really silly plotlines!

But Hypertime's endless possibilities are not always important. Sometimes... they are really very dumb.

Let us part the curtain and view some of these dumb Hypertime universes which exist..

Maxine stepped out of the Brownstone, clutching her trusty dog to her as she stepped out into...a bright, colorful, cheery place with little houses, and... where those giant lollipops that she saw.

Maxine stroked the head of her little dog, looking around in a mix of surprise and awe.

"Toto, I don't think we're in New York City anymore."

"New York City would be that way." points the thin, stretchy man tied up in knots composed of his own body to a pole, though he has enough elasticity left in both arms to point.
"Or maybe its that way." he points the other way.

"Really hard to tell in this place. Hm."

She blinked. Did...the guy on the pole over there just talk?

Toto jumped out of her arms, running over him, barking furiously.

"Quiet, Toto! Be nice!" She ran after her dog, giving the man on the pole a curious look. "Did...you just talk?"

"Awww, what a nice doggie." he comments. "And of course I just talked. I mean, sure, without my Sherlock Holmes junior detective kit, I feel like I just don't have a brain sometimes, but I can still talk. Say... I don't suppose you're any good at untying knots?"

"Sorry...I guess I'm just not used to guys tied up on poles talking to me," she said, walking over to him. "I can try...." She looked him up and down. He was tied up pretty good. "Umm...could you maybe help me out a little, please?"

"If I could help you out, would I be tied up here in the first place? I'm a detective, not a boyscout."
Nonetheless, he does what he can to loosen some of the knots.

"I never made it past brownies," she said, doing what she could to loosen the knots. Toto trying to nip at the man didn't help either. "Stop it Toto- he's not a chew-toy."

"If you don't mind me asking...how did you get like this?" She asked when she was just about done with the knots.

"Well see, there's this witch... totally wicked witch with huge... uhm, hats. Really big witch's hat. And she distracted me. See, this is totally not what I thought she meant when she said... uhm, so, nevermind that. She tied me up here. Part of her evil scheme."

"That wasn't very nice of her." She finished untying the rest of the knots. "There we go. All set."

"Well, I did say she was a wicked witch, after all. And thank you very much! That's much better."

"I know. But tying someone up in knots? That's a bit harsh." She turned to go. "It was lovely meeting you...but I must be going. I was told see a Wizard about getting back to New York City.

"Very ni... waaaaiiit, my nose is twitching. I think that means there's a mystery afoot... and me without my detective kit. Ah well. I should come with you anyway. Maybe the wizard knows where my junior detective kit is."

"You can come with me and Toto! The more the merrier! I'm sure the Wizard would be more than happy to help you find your junior detective kit!"

"Yay! Are we allowed to link arms and skip down the yellow brick road for no readily apparent reason?"

Further down the road, there was a man. Or maybe a statue. Or maybe both. It was a man made out of metal, but he wasn't moving.

"oil can..."

"Well of course we can!"

Maxine promptly stopped her skipping when she saw the man standing like a statue on the road.

She put down Toto and unlinked herself from Ralph's arm.

"Oil can?" She turned her head to Ralph. "Oil can? What's that mean?"
