(Aug. 10, 1956, ch. 1041, 70A Stat. 75.)

I've made a lot of mistakes in my life. I know for a fact while I was serving, I broke multiple articles in the UCMJ and I was lucky to not go to jail for it. There is an Air Force officer out there tonight who is just as lucky. She won't press charges and I understand why and I'm not going to turn the photographs over. But I'm sitting here, watching her sleep, wishing I could kiss every damned bruise away. About an hour ago, the boys woke up, terrified. They're curled up in bed with her now and have fallen back asleep, knowing Mom is okay. And she is. She will be.

I'm standing guard tonight, not thinking yet about tomorrow. I don't want to leave her alone but I don't know if I'd even be allowed to call out given the case we're hunting. I can't sleep, so I'm working. Studying. Thinking. Worrying.
