You know, it's only 20° outside (30°+ would be normal for summer here) and it already feels like Octobre, so why not? Winter is soon to come and I'm already excited for the next round :)

hi, i have a question: will podfic be allowed as a submission for the next round?

We'd prefer that all content be brand new, but we had a few members submit podfics in addition to other content last round.

by brand new do you mean un-posted work? as in, yes, you can post podfic as long as it's a new recording that hasn't been posted anywhere before, or does it have to be a new recording of a story that hasn't been posted anywhere before?

i really appreciate the clarification, as i'd like to sign up in november. the profile says that anything is welcome, but in my experience this doesn't always include podfic, and while i resist that, i want to play by the comm's rules. thanks!

The only podfics we had submitted last round were submitted in addition to something they created. The reason why podfics are on the bubble is because of one reason you listed - everything posted for the round must not have been posted anywhere else, but also because one of the other rules is that anything submitted must belong to the person submitting it - which doesn't always include podfics, because podfics are technically written by someone else.

However, we made a few exceptions last year, but many of those exceptions came in addition to 'original' work - meaning they submitted at least one thing that was created by the person submitting it. For example, someone might have submitted a podfic of someone else's story, but they also submitted icons that they, themselves created.

This might be something the mods will have to discuss before the next round. I'm sorry I don't have a clearer answer, but I hope to soon! :)
