posting fic to LJ

I admit it. I've used a lot of italics in my fanfic writing. Perhaps too many. I've used them for emphasis (e.g., "am I angry?"). I've used them for quotes from episodes. I've used them for the Doctor's thoughts in both of my "Subtext" stories, which was at least half the text both times. And now that I am trying to take MS Word documents and post them here into LJ, the absolute last thing I want to do is go back and find every word, phrase or sentence that I italicized so I can stick little html mark-up language codes around them. In fact, I'm not even sure if I can. Because I can't exactly search for italics using the "Find" function in Word. And as I said, I've used italics all over the place. And I suppose I could just ignore the italics and post in plain text, or just stick in the obvious italics (such as the quotes), but to me the italics are part of the story, and it's just not the same without them.

Strangely enough, I'm now feeling inspired to try to write a "Green Eggs and Ham" ode to all my attempts to get this to work. Something along the lines of, "I would not, could not, in Safari; rich text editor, no, so sorry."

Okay, time to go to bed now.

posting, lj
