Junsu flattened himself against the wall the moment he turned the corner. His heart was beating wildly in his chest, a bird trying to escape it's cage.
"Su-yah, are you alright?"
Junsu whipped his head around, gasping at the sight of the reason for his anxiety.
"Jaejoong-hyung!"
The older boy frowned at him a little, "Jaejoong, Su... you know I'd rather you just called me by my name,"
Junsu nodded, biting his lip and trying to come up with an excuse to leave. He loved Jaejoong so much it hurt, but he couldn't very well tell him that. Jaejoong was an upperclassman. How would it look for a kid like Junsu to confess love for someone like him?
Jaejoong had a school full of admirers. He didn't need Kim Junsu stirring things up and ruining a perfectly good friendship for the sake of a crush.
Junsu made an excuse to leave, a half-mumbled something before slipping away from the concerned look on Jaejoong's face because it couldn't be real. He wouldn't believe it.
He didn't realize he was running until he actually ran into a solid chest, apologies spilling from his lips. A low chuckle brought a furious blush to his cheeks and he looked up, ready to argue until he saw Yunho standing in front of him a quizzical glint in his eyes.
"You look a little frazzled Su, is something wrong?" Yunho brushed his fingers against Junsu's jaw, keeping his gaze up, and he smiled at the younger boy, concern tempering his actions.
Junsu shook his head, "I have to go to-"
"To class? You're already late, you might as well take your time and tell me what's wrong." He laughed, slinging an arm around Junsu's shoulders naturally, eyes sweeping over the teeth worrying Junsu's bottom lip and the resolute expression in his eyes. His dongsaeng was lost in his own little world of thought and Yunho couldn't stop smiling at the sight.
He leaned in to Junsu a little, speaking close to the younger boy's ear, "What aren't you telling me?"
Junsu jumped, surprised and embarrassed, pouting at Yunho's chuckle. "It's none of your business!"
Yunho enjoyed teasing the other like this, it was instinctive to try to coax a smile to Junsu face and oh did he try.
"It is too my business. How long have I known you, huh? If your mom thought it was my business to know about your-"
"Hyung!" Junsu pushed him away irritably, "Forget about it. How's Yoochun?"
Yunho's smile wilted a little, barely perceptibly, and he shrugged, "Oh, you know... how do you describe him he's-"
"Chunnish?"
And enter Yoochun himself with perfect timing to drop Junsu off to his class. They made their excuses to the teacher and left, slung over each other, comfortable. Yoochun grinned jovially at Yunho, "Something bothering Su? Or you for that matter, you look a little tired..."
Yunho shrugged, "Something always seems to be bothering Su these days," he couldn't help but sneak a glance back at the classroom, "I'm fine Chun. Better than."
He kissed Yoochun, his best friend, his boyfriend slowly in the empty hallway, reminding himself what he was always welcome to. Yoochun joked the kiss off as always, poking Yunho and cajoling him out onto the soccer fields to skip class.
Yoochun's eyes caught on Shim Changmin on the way out, turning his head to watch his dongsaeng with an odd little flutter in his heart.
It didn't matter- the flutter- it was irrelevant. He had a boyfriend- a best friend- and that was enough for him to want...
(...right?)

Changmin watched them all. It was easy from his place in the group as the youngest. he was able to see Junsu fall for Jaejoong- deeper and deeper by the second; it was a shame he didn't notice the reciprocation, really- watched the couple-that-was Yunho and Yoochun become less of a couple- to each his own heart's desire which was neither each other nor something else- and even saw his own infatuation with one Park Yoochun.
Maybe it was unfair of themselves to do this, but what did they really expect?
Changmin sank further into his book at the lunch table, watching his hyungs over the top of the crisp pages.
Maybe they were hurting each other for it.
He sighed.
That was high school for you.
