Yoochun is wearing white today, and it stands out against the dark red cushions, unnatural karaoke room lighting. The second Junsu hits the beginning of Hallelujah, Yoochun takes Jaejoong's elbow and guides him up, in front of the wide screen feeding them words. They've had watermelon and cocktails and all the classic songs; fought over the microphones and jumped barefoot on the couches; now Yoochun's turning the lights down so his shirt will look a little more black, and he can keep his eyes open and still imagine they're anywhere else.
It isn't really dancing, it's this kind of ritual where they take turns taking things off and dressing each other back up, rocking acceptance back and forth, unchoreographed holding on. Jaejoong's arms around his shoulders, his hands on Jaejoong's waist. Like an airport reunion scene, like sharing umbrellas, the last five minutes of high school prom. Yoochun can feel it against his chest if Jaejoong's pulse changes. It's this kind of Wonderwall, Hey Jude. It's I know who I want to take me home.
"Feels like Cinderella," Yoochun says.
Jaejoong's fingers trace over the collar of Yoochun's shirt. He's lost weight, makes it up by filling Yoochun's arms. "It's already past twelve."
"So this is love," Yoochun sings anyway, under Junsu.
Junsu takes this song a little different from how they've heard him take every other song; he's subdued and warm and the sound of it is less like stage, more like 3am balcony, and singing straight into someone's ear. Jaejoong's skin smells like secondhand cigarettes and something sweet; Yoochun breathes in when he dips Jaejoong, all eyes on them, and he forgets tomorrow, or three minutes from now when the song ends.
He sang 20th Century Boy with Yunho earlier, The Scientist with Changmin, danced to Chasing Cars with Junsu while Jaejoong held the microphone with both hands and said between phrases of music how he loved this song. Jaejoong's mouth is next to Yoochun's neck while they dance, but he isn't saying anything anymore. So they're in a ballroom, so they're on the beach. So they're anywhere else. Yoochun forgives Jaejoong for ruining a spin and Jaejoong forgives him for hitting their knees together and the room and the song, they forgive them for being a little human. Junsu sings hallelujah, hallelujah, and Yoochun writes amen onto the small of Jaejoong's back for the dance to keep going.
